About our Races
Our signature event is the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure, a relay run on a 178 mile course around the Reno-Tahoe region. The first year of the RTO was in 2005. 36 teams and about 400 runners participated. In 2013 we produced the 9th annual version. We sold out, reaching our 250 team and 3000 runner caps. This event is ideal for teams of 12 runners with each runner running 3 legs of the 36 leg course.
For two shorter relay options that join the RTO in progress, please consider the Capital Odyssey Relay or the Comstock Odyssey Relay. The Capital Odyssey Relay is on the last 12 legs of the RTO course and is about 54 miles in length. It starts in Carson City, which is the capital of Nevada. The Comstock Odyssey Relay is on the last 6 legs of the RTO course and is about 30 miles long. It begins in Virginia City, home of the famous Comstock Lode mining boom of the 1860's and 1870's. Both of these relays end in Reno at the Finish Line Festival.
The Leprechaun Race is a festive 5K run and walk on or near St. Patrick’s Day. This race celebrates the Terry Lee Wells Children’s Discovery Museum and Reno’s Midtown and Wells Avenue districts.
The Reno Running Festival is Race178's newest event, making its debut in September 2018. It consists of 2 races and a spaghetti feed. The races are the Reno Mile and the Journal Jog.
The Reno Mile is a one mile race on Reno's most famous street, Virginia Street in downtown Reno.
The Journal Jog is Reno's Oldest Footrace. The Reno Gazette-Journal (RGJ) founded this event and produced it for decades, but we acquired the event in 2013. This is an 8K run and walk.
We always are considering creating and producing other events, but we do not have any firm plans as of now. If you are involved with an event and you need a race director, let us know and we may be able to help.
