September 12-13, 2020
We are very disappointed to announce that we are cancelling the 3rd Annual Reno Running Fest presented by Hometown Health due to many concerns and uncertainties spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Reno Running Fest was to consist of the 3rd Annual Reno Mile on September 12, 2020 and the 52nd Annual Journal Jog on September 13, 2020.
Given the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic and the direction the pandemic is heading, we do not know that we will be able to put on a safe event for our staff, volunteers, runner and walker participants, sponsors, vendors, spectators, and everyone else who would be involved with the event.
We considered modifying the logistics of the Reno Mile and Journal Jog to meet social distancing and other health related guidelines. We are not confident, however, that what the races would look like in the end would be of interest to enough people to warrant all the time, effort and costs required to plan and execute the modified races.
Additionally, even if we proceeded with plans to put on the event to some degree, the government restrictions in effect in September may prohibit a large gathering of people. We have no control over what the group size limitation will be.
We will not be converting the Reno Mile or Journal Jog to virtual events, nor will we be postponing them to a later date in 2020.
We will be looking to launch another one of our Virtual Run Adventures by a date in September. Hundreds of people have enjoyed participating in the Run Reno-Tahoe Virtual Run Adventure and the Run Nevada Virtual Run Adventure. Please stay tuned for an announcement about those plans.
Please plan to join us in September 2021 for the 4th Annual Reno Running Fest presented by Hometown Health consisting of the 4th Annual Reno Mile and the 53rd Annual Journal Jog.
