Race178 Point Series

Race178 will have an Age-Group Point Series for the Leprechaun Race, Reno 10 Miler (individual only, not relay), Journal Jog and Run with the Girls (10K only) in 2017. Compete against other runners in your age group and try to win the Point Series!

How does it work?

Depending on how you place in your age-group, you will earn points.
The most points after the Run with the Girls wins!

Point system:

  • 1st place - 10 points
  • 2nd place - 8 points
  • 3rd place - 7 points
  • 4th place - 6 points
  • 5th place - 5 points
  • 6th place - 4 points
  • 7th place - 3 points
  • 8th place - 2 points
  • 9th place - 1 point

Age-groups (male and female):

  • 14 and under
  • 15-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60-69
  • 70 and above

Please note:

  1. Your age-group will be determined based off the first event you participate in 2017. For example: John turns 40 on the day after the Leprechaun Race. Since John was 39 for the Leprechaun Race, he will be competing in the 30-39 age-group for the Point Series.
  2. If there is a tie, the tiebreaker will be the fastest time from the 2017 Run with the Girls (10K).
  3. Please note that the Journal Jog has even more age groups than the Point Series age groups. This is due to longstanding tradition of the Journal Jog having so many age groups for that event. When we proceed with determining the Point Series age group results for this race, we will combine the Journal Jog age groups to align with the Point Series age groups. For example, a runner may get 1st in his age group of 55 to 59, but there are 9 runners in the 50 to 54 age group with faster times in that event. Accordingly the 1st place runner in the 55 to 59 age group will not score any points for the 50 to 59 age group for the Point Series.
